Earth Day

Earth Day is celebrated on April 22 every year.  This year makes 45 years since Earth Day came about.  The first Earth Day led to the creation on the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the passage of the Clean Air, Clean Water, and Endangered Species Acts.  Earth Day broadens the base of support for environmental programs, rekindles public commitment and builds community activism around the world through a broad range of events and activities.  Earth Day is the largest civic event in the world, celebrated simultaneously around the globe by people of all backgrounds, faiths and nationalities.  The massive global migration underway now from countryside to cities will demand huge investments in energy, water, materials, waste, food distribution, and transportation over the next 25 years.
